The autogyro pilot

Flying around the world in an open cockpit aircraft is no mean feat so it takes a specila kind of person to do this. The pilot of the Gyrox autogyro is Norman Surplus is from Larne, N. Ireland.  He is an accomplished autogyro pilot (a rare breed!), sailor and general outdoorsman. He has been active in many outdoor pursuits over the years spanning all the varied environments that the Globe has to offer. He is also an experienced crewmember of a Royal National Lifeboat Institution rescue boat (similar to coastguard rescue) with responsibility for navigation and steering (coxswain).

  1. Best of luck on your record attempt, Norman. We will all be following your progress online over the next weeks and we hope get round to Sandy Bay to give you a send off.
