Congratulations Norman on successfully completing another leg of your journey. It seemed a very quick flight today and the tracker was working fine so there were no anxious moments like there had been on your last couple of flights. Enjoy your time in Raipur.
A great flight today Norman, your early start caught us off guard and you were on the ground before I had finished my first coffee of the day! This highlights not only how many miles you have covered but also how many lines of longitude you are passing on your journey eastwards! All power to you and GYROX, have a great day and I hope the altitude and closeness of the river gives you some respite from the heat. Enjoy Raipur :-)
12.30 Hrs..Is this a low level leg ?? I guess GYROX is on a trailer, perhaps the lady has gone shopping for a new handbag, she deserves a treat. Hope all is well. TR Kirk.B
For all of us far away onlookers, it's complete guesswork as to what this little bird is doing at times. No doubt all will be revealed later in the blog. Maybe Norm fancied a bit of downtown shopping. But which is cheaper? Taxi or YROX? At one time there was nothing from Spot, and I couldn't even trace the whereabouts of his apparant stop on Google Earth for some reason. can't imagine a gyro could land just anywhere within a built up area. Unless Spot doesn't actually pin point the exact locaation as every track seems to be in straight lines.
Just to allay fears or queries for those not following on Facebook, but G-YROX is safely tucked away for the night at the airport and Norman has the 'Sot' tracker with him and the route that has been shown from the aitport around the city was obviously because Norman hadn't switched the tracker off :-) This happened when he was in Egypt and it looked as though GYROX was flying around and through the pyramids, lol. It is a good idea to follow Norman on Facebook as well, as there is a load of content that doesn't make it to the blog and is handy for up to the minute updates and photos/videos. Cheers
When flying, Norman has 'Spot' attached to the top of the instrument panel, held safe in a velcro patch. When leaving the aircraft and for security sake, he the attaches Spot to his trouser belt. There are photos on Facebook of him wearing it at the Pyramids...and children asking him what it is!

Great Adventure Norman!
ReplyDeleteIf you get close enough (tomorrow?) enjoy the Hirakud Dam and reservoir. The dam is 4800M long.
Keep cool. ☺

Thanks for the update Eddie,I assumed the Spot tracker was 'built in',hence I was somewhat confused as to the location of G-YROX.
